The Friends of the Malibu Library (FOML), an independent, all volunteer community group, was formed in 1978 to support the local public library. Since then, FOML has grown to a membership of over 100 and is a 501(C)(3) tax exempt, non-profit organization, governed by a Board of Directors. The current Directors are: Kathy Sullivan (President), Robin Spivack (VP), Harriet Pollon (Secretary), Yvonne Tang (Treasurer), Bambi Young, Bonnie Saito, Susan Kelly, Madeline Wright, Judie Melnik and Marcia Loots-Serna.

The Friends’ traditional fund raising event is a Book Fair usually held in March of each year. Staffed by dedicated volunteers, it has become a community favorite. Annual membership dues, a December Holiday Sale, generous donations, and in-house book sales provide additional funding. The resulting resources allow the Friends to sponsor children’s reading programs and activities, fund the purchase of books, reference materials, and audiovisual materials for both adults and children; enhance collections; and support other library programs.

Each year, we process of donated books for sale at the Book Fair and the library Bookstore. We welcome new members and volunteers.   SO GET INVOLVED.
